Journeys in the Light: A New Documentary Film about Cape Cod
"Journeys in the Light: Untold Stories of Cape Cod" recounts the struggles and achievements of People of Color in this region both through the eyes of contemporary artists and through the Zion Union Heritage Museum's large collection of historical photographs, artifacts, and documents. The documentary is produced by ArtistsAndMusicians.org, in collaboration with John L. Reed, Executive Director of the Zion museum, which is located on North Street in Hyannis. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the filmmakers, as well as the artists and writers whose work is featured in the film, including Carl Lopes, Pamela Chatterton-Purdy, David Purdy, Robin Joyce Miller, and James W. Miller. Light refreshments will be served. A DVD version of the film will be available for purchase at the event, along with a selection of books related to the museum’s mission of celebrating diversity. Seating is limited.
